Gleneagles Scottish Country Dance Club

Simon Scott

The Gleneagles SCDC is one of the largest clubs within the Vancouver Branch with an approximate membership of 90 dancers. It was formed in the early 1960s using the Gleneagles Golf Clubhouse in West Vancouver, from which our club name is derived.

Classes are located in Hollyburn Elementary School, 1329 Duchess, West Vancouver. The Basic/Intermediate Classes are held on Monday nights, the Challenge Classes on Tuesday nights and the Experienced Dancers’ Classes on Wednesday nights. All classes run from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

In addition to regular practices, the club hosts two parties per season – one in the Fall, the other in the Spring. A major event in the club’s calendar is the annual Gleneagles Ball held in December each year at the Vancouver Fairmont Hotel.

Gleneagles is a very social club welcoming both new and experienced dancers to participate in all our club activities.

The dance program is under the direction of Simon Scott.
